I. What is Alipay

Alipay is a Chinese “super app”. Super app means you can do multiple things on the app, from paying your bills to buying train tickets and tours. It is primarly a financial app in the same category as PayPal.

It is used as a payment method on Superbuy to completely cut off the conversion fees (fx), which are usually around 10% on any agent.

You pay through Alipay, not to Alipay. Once you register and link your card, you don’t need to use the app again unless there are problems. Only the Chinese and people living in China are able to top up to Alipay, we only pay through them, like if we used Apple/Google pay.

To be able to use it, you have to have an currency account, that can supports having CNY, examples are Revolut or Wise, because a traditional bank wouldn’t support  the currency most of the time.

II. Creating a compatible card through Revolut

First of all you need to register on Revolut, I’m not gonna show you that part, use google if it’s a problem.
